plazma rope wins over wire cable for handing etc but you've got to be careful with it dragging over rocks etc + there is a massive weight saving. there are 1000's of winches on the market these days & i reckon you'd be crazy to drop that sort of coin on a winch that didn't already have rope on it.

the RUNVA winches get a good wrap: http://www.runvawinch.com.au/winches/4w ... /ewx12000/

shoot Dan @ KPD4x4.com an email & see what he can do one for, feel free to name drop me or just mention auszookers.com ;)

its got 24m of steel cable on it. i think its an extra 200 or so to upgrade to plasma.

what are the eletrics etc like on the RUNVA ones as that seems to be the failing point of a lot of the cheaper ones

yeah most of the winches that run the starter motor style can solenoids and are the ones that give all the problems, the RUNVA's run albright solenoids from factory along with a heap of other brands.

;) have a suss around as there are heaps of cheap winches around, just need one with some after sales service/parts backup.

Dan @ KPD4x4 is a champ, would be worth dropping him an email for a price. will probably get free freight at a minimum for name dropping.
